We recognize the importance of working together with other groups who share our mission of saving Patagonia from destructive activities. To this end, we are in the process of forging new partnerships with the NGO community in Chile. Environmental groups are largely credited in Chile with awakening a dormant sense of citizen disapproval, culminating in a series of massive protests following the May 2011 approval of the HidroAysén project in Patagonia. The lessons learned in their longstanding fight may prove to be critical in winning our own battle in the Futaleufú watershed. For more on the HydroAysen fight see: www.internationalrivers.com
Likewise, we are exploring research partnerships with Universities in both Chile and Argentina who have expressed an interest in studying the environmental and ecological health of watersheds in Patagonia.
