Our Approach to Action

Futaleufú Riverkeeper generates information and promotes public policies that protect the rights of rivers and communities. We monitor the watershed to identify emerging threats to water and ecosystem health, and take action to combat these threats through policy work and community initiatives.

Riverkeeper prioritizes constant and systematic monitoring of the Futaleufú Watershed. While keeping a watchful eye on our waters, we work to report threats, propose solutions, promote conservation and sustainability initiatives, and influence political decisions for sustainable local development.

To achieve our goals, we focus on legal protection of the land and waters, scientific research, and communication and advocacy campaigns as the basis of our protection and conservation strategy. We are constantly working to expand our network and impact by creating alliances with other local and international organizations. Community involvement is essential to the success of our work. Long-term conservation of the watershed hinges on the involvement of local citizens and the empowered community.
